Membership

On its founding in 1934, Professor William J Watson defined the purpose of the Society thus:
‘To provide the publication of texts in the Scottish Gaelic language, accompanied by such introductions, English translations, glossaries and notes as may be deemed desirable’.


This remains the Society’s purpose with one volume published annually. Without our members the Society would not be able to continue its work and we are grateful to each and every one of our members for their support.


The membership fee is £20 per annum for individuals (£25 for non-EU countries) and £40 for libraries or learned societies. Membership entitles the holder to a free copy of all publications issued while the holder is in subscription. We prefer members to pay annually by standing order. Subscriptions are due each February on a date of each member’s own choosing.


New members may also purchase up to two volumes of their choice at half-price (title list overleaf) by indicating which volumes they require below.
